BIO

Nancy Bloomer Deussen is a San Francisco Bay Area composer known for her accessible, melodic contemporary compositions. Since Ms Bloomer Deussen began composing in the 1950s she has been inspired by the beauty of nature and some of her earliest works reflect this. More recently, she has identified with the environmental movement as she has gradually come to realize that all human life will depend upon how well we preserve our precious natural resources. To work toward these environmental goals Ms Bloomer Deussen has composed numerous compositions for enviromental groups and ensembles about nature and with an ecological message in the belief that creative artists like herself can, in fact, influence how well we humans will deal with the problem of preserving our resources.
