EDUCATION

Nancy Bloomer Deussen is a graduate of The Manhattan School of Music with a BM in Composition and the University of Southern California School of Music with a second BM in Music Education. At USC she graduated with honors and was elected to Pi Kappa Gamma and Mu Phi Epsilon. She had extensive graduate work at USC School of Music, UCLA, Long Beach State University and San Jose State University.

Her teachers of composition were: Vittorio Giannini, Lukas Foss, Ingolf Dahl and Wilson Coker and she had private counterpoint study with Wallingford Riegger.

As an educator Ms Bloomer Deussen retired from the music faculty of Mission College in Santa Clara, California in 2000. In addition she has taught composition at Santa Clara University, The Community School of Music and Art in Mountain View, California, the Palo Alto Adult School in Palo Alto, CA and she presently maintains a small private studio of composition and piano students.
